Moothi- 'nest in the hills'

$549.00

Moothi by Lauren Freestone
600x500mm framed in Tasmanian Oak

This art work is inspired by my Great Grandparents Country, Wiradjuri Country.

A significant place of importance to our family is the Mudgee region. This is where my great grandparents lived. The name Mudgee comes from the Wiradjuri word 'Moothi' meaning- 'nest in the hills’.

It is a landscape of towering hills and sand stone cliffs, beautiful bushland, valleys, rivers and waterfalls. Rock shelters stained with ochre hand prints marking a time before us. This Country connects us from past to present.
